Litorin

Litorin is a bombesin-related peptide that binds bombesin receptors in vitro and in vivo. Litorin exhibits anorexigenic and thermo-modulatory activities. In vivo, litorin decreases food intake and body temperature. Litorin also induces contractions in smooth muscle and increases secretion of gastrin and pancreatic polypeptide in animal models. Ex vivo, litorin inhibits thyrotropin-releasing hormone release from the hypothalamus.
