M40

M40 is a peptide antagonist at galanin receptors that exhibits anorexigenic and anxiolytic activities. In vivo, M40 decreases food intake, ethanol consumption, and reproductive behavior. M40 also decreases stress-induced anxiety responses in the elevated plus maze and social interaction tasks and suppresses defensive burying behavior in animal models of anxiety.
